I just recently took this car in for a PA Safety Inspection and the mechanic showed me this...After some research, I have found that rust is a common problem on the Mazda brand.
I will try to clean off the rust and use some rust-killing paint and see how it works. Otherwise it is a
$500 cost for the part and who knows how much for the labor.
This car is only 5 years old and it has more rust than my 20 year old Volvo 960!
