2009 Mazda 6. consumer writes regarding outer door handle voluntary safety recall 5209A the consumer stated the dashboard indicator light illuminated indicating that one of the doors was still open while the vehicle was in motion. Despite checking to make sure all the doors were securely closed, the light continued to stay on, until the consumer stopped and turned off the engine. Also, the ABS, tcs and brake indicators illuminated as well. The consumer then discovered he was not able to lock the vehicle by using the lock button on the driver's side door handle. The button was non-responsive and symptoms only worsened as time went by. The consumer went to a repair facility and a diagnostics test revealed the faulty door handle was the reason for the malfunction. The consumer stated he was never informed of the recall. When the consumer went back to the dealer, he was informed, his VIN was not included.
