This is the fourth time I had to deal with the T-hose by the battery breaking and dumping all of the coolant. To top it off (no pun intended) I was in the middle of a trip, literally in the middle. Hundreds of miles from my home and the destination. Luckily I had access to tools, and a near by auto parts store.
Like I have mentioned, this is the 4th time this has happened. Sometimes I don't realize this until I realize the coolant temp gauge is showing signs of overheating. As soon as I pull over, that's when the smoke show begins. This time, the head gaskets quit on me. And now I'm facing a huge repair for the head gasket all for a $3 hose that had to be constantly replaced.
Part of the hose that keeps breaking is the thinner end. That's where the diameter of it is about half an inch thick. No wonder it keeps breaking! What kind of substance can handle the temperature and pressure of coolant when it's so thin??
