I bought my Mazda6 2003 in 2004. it was brand new and delivered to dealership putting 17miles on it. I loved my Mazda.. However 150 miles or less it started to surge at take off, so I did what any normal person would do I took it to the dealer. However like always it would never do it for the shop when we took it for a ride. mind you there was no check engine light on nor codes. It made me out to be a liar...It has been doing this for as long as I have owned this car.
It now has 133,000. Two yrs ago I had a map sensor replaced because my mechanic thought it was that because the check engine light was not on reading no codes were out and he to was puzzled so he thought by replacing the map sensor in hopes that would work. NOPE $350 later it was not solved, still rpm would continue to surge. I would say if this car had a name it would be CHRISTINE the car that is possessed, I would be driving speeds at 50-60mph and it would go faster then slow down. THIS car definitely got my attention every time.
I have to say that as of last week that being tues the 25th of august 2015 I had a really bad scare, that if i didn't pull over and shut the car down and call for help that I would have been involved in a very bad car accident. I was leaving work and didn't even make it up to 45mph and I had to stop at a red light when I noticed the rpm was surging then I went to take off and it continued to act up. I had to stop for another red light but the car did not want to stop I thought my brakes were out so I had to wait to get to the next town. I was freaking out. I was in rush hour and no real safe place to pull over as I approached the next stop light my car was really surging bad and the light turned red and I tried to stop and it wouldn't stop so I was able to avoid hitting the car in front of me due to the car wanting to continue to go while my foot was on the break.I pulled over had to run a light cause my car was revving and would not stop i got into parking lot threw it in park and shut the car off and called for help.
I have to say that I was considering of an upgrade to a newer Mazda, but after researching this problem and Mazda not recalling this sounding like the throttle body aa,ab,ba. I don't ever want to purchase a Mazda. MY CONCERN IS DOES SOMEBODY HAVE TO DIE OR BE CHARGED FOR KILLING SOMEONE IN A CAR WRECK BE FOR THEY FIX THIS PROBLEM.
Sorry no disrespect to anyone here, but if we all recall Toyota had a bad recall that took lives before they finally corrected the problem. Mazda is aware of this.. HELLO!!!! TIME TO MAKE A RECALL! I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING ANOTHER MAZDA IF THIS IS HOW THEY DEAL WITH PRODUCT ISSUES.
