Thank you for your prompt response to my letter. Please know that Mazda has not addressed the problems that I have been experiencing with my 2008 Mazda-5. As a consumer, I should not have to worry that a rut on the road could dent my rims and cause a flat tire. In such a short time of ownership. I’ve had 7 different cars and my husband has and 10, since we started driving and we have never had a problem like this before. Since my purchase of the Mazda 5, I have been experiencing problems with the rims and tires assigned to this car since my purchase in 2008.

My concern is for Mazda and other car manufacturers that they should really be aware and concern about the ware and tear of the rims and tires. Wear and tear should occur during a reasonable time frame of car ownership. The rims on the Mazda do not work well with the tires therefore causing the consumer money, time, inconvenience, and headaches. In four years I have had to replace the wheels eight times and each time my mechanic says it’s because of the cars. The tires do not have enough protection for the rims. The Mazda has 60,000 miles.

Ultimately I had no choice but to buy new rims for the car. The mechanic at Jack Williams said the rims I purchased would give me more protection and would make a big difference in protecting the rims from ruts on the road.

My last flat just happen to my daughter in January of 2013, I had Continental tires on my Mazda. The rim was so dented that I needed new rims. I since bought 16” rims, I wanted 15” rims but was told the rims will not work. Now my new rims will give the car rims more rubber on the tires to protect my rims from the ruts in the road. The 17” rims are not a proper match to the tires. The rims need more protect from ruts. This is not a warranty problem it was poor judgment on the car manufacturer and Mazda should replace my rims free of charge. I would like Mazda to reimburse me for my rims. I paid $372.01 for the new rims. Thank you for your consideration,
