I purchased a new 2018 Mazda3 in Sept 2019. Approximately a week after I had the car, two lights lit up on the dash. They would come on about 5 minutes into my drive in the morning and go off after a while. I took it back to the dealership, they reset the computer and it seemed to have solved the problem temporarily. The lights are back on. They come on after the car is warmed up and after I have been driving a few minutes. They sometimes go off before I get to work and sometimes not. They don't come on during my commute home. I took it back to the dealership and they had my car all day and didn't find the problem. I was told they have a call into Mazda in CA and will contact me when they hear back. It's been almost a week and no call yet. I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem.
I have attached a picture of the malfunction warning from my infotainment system which identifies the lit up dash lights.
- HBC/LAS System Malfunction (high beam control and lane-keep assist)
- SCBS Malfunction (smart brake system malfunction)
Update from Jan 25, 2022: Update on the malfunction warning: after stressing about this for months, I finally spoke with someone at Mazda that told me this was normal. It happens in the winter when there's frost or when it's raining, or when the sun is extremely bright and hits the forward sensing camera at a certain angle. I wish someone could have explained what was going on to me sooner and avoided me all the worry!
