Back in Oct of 2015 my ABS and dsc lights would come on an go off for no reason. As of December 2016 the lights have remained on. I replaced the speed sensors in each wheel, checked the tone rings, tested the wiring for breaks, tested the brake light switch, I have nothing left to check other than the ABS systems. I recently had my clutch replaced on my 2010 Mazda 3 S by Mazda, while performing the work I asked if the technician could tell me what the problem was, I was told that the ABS pump was bad, was not told if it was the computer module or the hyd pump motor or valve body. Based on the symptoms, I am assuming that the control module is bad. I found that there are tsb's on this problem with many complaints by other 2010 Mazda 3 owners. The contact owns a 2010 Mazda 3. while driving 60 mph, the ABS sensor traction control and brake light indicators illuminated without warning. Pearson Mazda of henrico, va 23294 was made aware of the issue and stated that the ABS hydraulic control unit was faulty and could cause a future loss of braking function. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.

The car will intermittently not shift out of park due to the shift lock not releasing properly, and the stop lights and horn are not functioning properly as well. This seams to be typical of the Mazda3's due to the horn shorting the fuse and the brake switch going bad, and definitely makes the car more accident prone. Others seam to report the cruise control functions stop working due to the same fuse being used for stop lights and the cruise control function.

ABS light comes on intermittently when driving. Dsc (stability control) light also comes on, since it relies on ABS working to be effective. In this mode, hydraulic brake functions remain, but safety is reduced without ABS active: Directional control in a skid is now non-existent, and emergency swerves can become wild and highly erratic. ABS failure, light came on in early 2015. Problems w/garden city Mazda dealer & service w/shotty business practices, so never went back to any Mazda dealer for service. Did all the required service since purchased new in 2010 until now. Have been in contact w/Mazda Japan, usa, & stevenson Mazda in jacksonville, nc where my daughter drives said Mazda everyday w/her sons, 4 months & 2.5 years old. The ABS system light indicates a faulty system & this vehicle has been determined to have the faulty part. Mazda Japan/usa said they would pay 50% of part cost & stevenson Mazda in jacksonville, nc would pay 50% total cost=$600 of $1200. Family tire & auto service, who alerted us of problem on 12/28/2015 (outside of warranty) would repair for $800. Since this is a safety hazard, disables ABS system, it should have been a recall not a tbs & all consumers would have been notified!!! have all paperwork from all on this hazard & know there are many of these vehicles on our nation's roads w/same hazard. Need your immediate attention & help to resolve this matter so we consumers are protected from the auto industry. The contact disconnected and reconnected the battery cable but the lights remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but the failure was unable to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 103,000.

The ABS & dsc (dynamic stability control) instrument panel warning lights came on. I have had the car tested at a repair shop and two separate computer readouts show codes C0020, U0140 & U0140 (related to the ABS hydraulic unit). The shop provided service bulletin no. 04-002/13, last issued: 7/17/2013 related to this problem. I understand I may not have functional ABS or dsc but the brakes, while not having ABS, still function. I was advised this may be a very expensive repair but since it is a safety related issue, Mazda may fix the problem at no charge. I would argue that not having ABS or dsc is most certainly a safety issue and I should have received a recall notice. Please advise.

I was driving to work. Road was wet. Vehicle gets in front of me and I had to turn quick to avoid hitting this vehicle. I lost control, luckily no one was injured. I know dsc is not supposed to replace a safe driver, but in an emergency situation like this it should of at least helped me out. It turned completely off. The dsc light came on permanently as well as the ABS light and the brake light. After turning the vehicle off then back on the lights came off. When I took the car to the Mazda dealer and was completely ignored by the service department as to the system having any problem at all. So I decide to go to an empty parking lot and tried to repeat the same emergency situation I was and indeed the system failed again. I went back to the Mazda dealer and showed them, and apparently the only solution to them is replace the dsc module. This would of been suficient for me if the system wasn't $700, and since my vehicle has 50000 miles on it and I no longer have their initial warranty effective, then it's a must strive situation. The only reason I'm complaining is because of the poor quality of this system, the hazardous situation it could compromise Mazda drivers and others around them, and the fact that Mazda is ignoring this despite thousands of customers complaining.
