I don't think I ever reported this, so I'm doing it now. A solenoid in the ABS stuck open, that caused the brakes to be soft. The brake pedal would sink fast when pressed and then brakes would work (but not well) when pedal was near to the floor. Many think this is a leaking power brake booster, but it is due to stuck valve in the ABS module. I had to replace the entire ABS module, with a list price is $795. I bought it at parts house for $575 and did labor myself. The ABS is a huge PAIN to replace BTW due to its location. Also have to bleed the entire system again, etc. Never had an ABS fail, not counting at such a low mileage. Also, I never had old fluid pushed back into the ABS as the car still had the original brakes at the time.
