My transaxle failed at 74000 miles and I had it fully replaced under warranty. Now that the transaxle is 80000 miles old it needs to be replaced AGAIN! I cannot believe the transmission lasts less than 100,000 miles. This is crazy!
Do not buy Mazda3's! They are really Ford Focus'. I had an O2 sensor failure and transmission failure in the six months I owned this car. They are also very slow if you get the 2.0L could barely get on the highway, or if you have the air conditioning on. Bad car, buy something else.
