CarComplaints.com Notes: Except for a minor issue with cracked motor mounts, the 2007 MAZDA3 is a fantastic vehicle with a great reputation.

If you need to replace the motor mounts, first ask your dealer if they'll cover it -- the motor mounts were dealt with in a TSB & were recalled for some model years. Otherwise buy aftermarket motor mounts -- owners report this solves the problem. If you use the same OEM parts, they may just crack again.

I found out 2 years ago that there was an issue with my tail lights. I was driving home and a friend happened to be driving behind me and told me afterwards that my tail light was broken because it was there was partial white light coming through the red. When I reached home I went to see go look at the tail lights and found nothing wrong visually. I asked someone for help to see if they notice the problem my friend saw. I stepped on the brake and that's when the person notice that there was a white light showing through. Upon closer inspection when I looked at it I realized there was a hole and coming from inside the light. I took my car to the Mazda dealership to ask them about the problem but the service technician had the audacity to accuse me of lying since he said those lights are not stock and it was not Mazda's problem. Well he was right the lights were not stock but the ones I was complaining about were since it was the lights that came with the car. So all and all the jerk did nothing but make me feel like I was lying about the issue. I attached photos of the lights and I will let you know that those lights are still on the car 2 years later.

I have a 2007 Mazda 3 Hatchback and I already had this tail light melting issue twice now. Frankly, I am getting a bit irritated about this. First time it happened I paid my Mazda Dealer around $300 (used from a wrecked car) to put in both new tail light assemblies. Of course no one there could tell me what might have caused the melting or has ever heard of it. Now I noticed it is happening again, this time it's the driver's side, ain't no telling how much longer it will take for the other one to start. I have read so many complaints about this issue now and frankly I am at a loss of how Mazda (if at all) is even interested in dealing with this. It seems my Mazda Dealer sure is not help and just wants the money to replace the light assembly.

On the way home from work, I was pulled over by a police officer, who thought that my lights were broken/cracked. He apologized and let me off with an warning when he couldn't even accurately describe the problem. When I got home and looked, my lens cover (the red one, over the brake light) was MELTED. I can't even image how that might have happened.

I'll be contacting the dealership, to see what they have to say, but from what I've read, I'm not too encouraged.
