rusting welded areas
this is the annoying response I get from their rep on trying to ignore the issue. They are only good for selling but there is no commitment to fix any issues found:

I was not aware of any paint issue on CX-9 vehicles. I will speak to service and find out if Mazda issued a technical service bulletin.
Surface oxidation on a vehicle's undercarriage is not at all unusual, nor is it a safety or structural problem.​ Additionally, your CX-9 is covered by a 5-year / unlimited mileage anti-perforation warranty.
