I purchased the car used at 48,000 miles in June 2018. February 11, 2019 engine died hours after check engine light came on. Didn't drive car more than 5-10 miles. Head Gasket failed, and coolant leaked into oil, pretty much burning up everything inside engine. Hoping it is covered under warranty, and I will update when I know the final cost of repair and time.

Update from Mar 12, 2019: 3/12/19 - Update, Mazda covered the new engine under the warranty. I was given a new "zero" mile engine from California. After new engine was put into vehicle another check engine code pulled, not more than 1/2 mile from dealer. This time it was code P0012. A third check engine code pulled about 30 miles in driving, this was the mass air flow sensor.
Total repair time 3-4 weeks. Dealer, All-American Mazda in Brick, NJ was the dealer/service center I brought the car to for repair. The service center was great. I was given a loaner car, and was treated very nice by the service center staff. Initial issue: Check engine code P0016 Second: Check engine code P0012 Third: Check Engine, mass air flow sensor About 300 miles after receiving car back it is running well.
