Took the car in for a 36k maintenance and was informed by our mechanic that when the tech was testing the radiator, he smelled some fluid so he decided to pressurize it and investigate more. This is a regular maintenance item, so I was surprised to get a call from them stating that the radiator blew up in the techs face. Thankfully he got out of the way and wasn't hurt. Called Mazda Corporate to report the problem and they asked if I was going to bring it to the dealer to look at 30 miles away. I said no, so I can pay at 30% premium for the same work? So, I would have to tow the car to the dealer, have them look at the car and then tell me that the radiator needs to be replaced and that they won't cover it because it is out of warranty. Basically, they told me sorry- you're out of luck. So at 38k, right out of warranty barely I'm stuck with my SECOND almost 1k repair while Mazda (see other complaint) gets away with making inferior and dangerous vehicles laughing all the way to the bank. RUN AWAY FROM MAZDA- they look pretty but are HORRIBLE unreliable vehicles that will bankrupt you after paying the almost 40k price tag.
