CarComplaints.com Notes: The only area of real concern for 2013 Mazda CX-9 owners is the brake booster.

In 2014, Mazda extended the warranty on the 2007-2013 CX-9 brake booster to 7 years / 90,000 miles. However this extended warranty has expired for most affected CX-9 owners, so buyer beware.

This Mazda CX-9 brake booster failure isn't terrible in terms of repair cost — it "only" costs $550 average to fix. However it is a safety issue when the brake booster fails as it increases stopping distance. Owners have reported having to stomp on the brake pedal, & crashes/injuries have been reported due to this CX-9 brake booster defect.

I was driving to get a cup of coffee, I was pulling out and driving through the complex when the airbags deployed from nowhere, the airbags were the side curtain airbags from both sides of the car. At the time of the deployment T my car was stationary, I was sitting with my left blinker on ready to turn.

Apparently, my car has a safety recall from Mazda as of January 2018 in reference to the takata airbags. The United States department of transportation ( NHTSA) when completing a VIN search doesn't have my car listed on a recall in regards to takata airbags. Can someone explain why that is? thank you.

Passenger SAS ( airbag, sideair bag, seatbeltpretensioner ) without reason turns off and on. My wife ( 96 lb ) is not a child as defined by their literature ( 66 lb ). my wife is consequently rendered protected and then without reason, unprotected by the SAS system built into the vehicle. Mazda's position is that she should sit in the back seat. This vehicle is unsafe for her. Mazda will do nothing but offer me platitudes, but no solution to this unsafe situation. This is clearly bad engineering and design, putting many people in harms way. [xxx] vehicle sold by gunther Mazda fort lauderdale.
