CarComplaints.com Notes: The only area of real concern for 2012 Mazda CX-9 owners is the brake booster.
In 2014, Mazda extended the warranty on the 2007-2013 CX-9 brake booster to 7 years / 90,000 miles. However this extended warranty has expired for most CX-9 owners, so buyer beware.
This Mazda CX-9 brake booster failure isn't terrible in terms of repair cost — it "only" costs $550 average to fix. However it is a safety issue when the brake booster fails as it increases stopping distance. Owners have reported having to stomp on the brake pedal, & crashes/injuries have been reported due to this CX-9 brake booster defect.

Over the years I have had MULTIPLE problems. Almost lost a wheel on the bridge after the supposed thorough end of warranty inspection, 4th and 5th gear had never transitioned well, window motor blew, clacking sounds on my engine in permanence, etc.
Today I went to start my truck and it made a sound and felt like it was choking/going to stall. I immediately turned it off and went to check under the hood. My prestone was almost all gone; okay, weird; checked my oil and it's mucky/creamy brown. I call the garage and they say to leave it there as the head gasket is either blown or leaking. Now can you honestly tell me that it is normal for a car with less than 113k miles to have a blown head gasket?! Based on my research it should last at LEAST 250 KM.
I have always had regular oil changes and maintenance done. It's been a lemon and I tried contacting Mazda over the years with no luck. A POS.
I would greatly appreciate your input and any help you could provide, knowledge on recalls pending or if I am the lucky winner because 2012 was a bad year for Mazda CX-9.
