CarComplaints.com Notes: The only area of real concern for 2010 Mazda CX-9 owners is the brake booster.
In 2014, Mazda extended the warranty on the 2007-2013 CX-9 brake booster to 7 years / 90,000 miles. However this extended warranty has expired, so buyer beware.
This Mazda CX-9 brake booster failure isn't terrible in terms of repair cost — it "only" costs $550 average to fix. However it is a safety issue when the brake booster fails as it increases stopping distance. Owners have reported having to stomp on the brake pedal, & crashes/injuries have been reported due to this CX-9 brake booster defect.

My 2010 Mazda CX9 (a car I love) was one of the cars in a Front Lower Control Arms Safety Recall.8515G.
I made an appt with the Dealer and hung about for a couple of hours. The part was not replaced because they do not have enough parts to replace them in all the recalled cars. Mine "passed inspection" so I get to go back to the dealer when they have one for me. They were also nice enough to give my car a complimentary once over and recommend a few hundred dollars worth of maintenance/ repairs.
Now, I had a couple of those fluids, filters and such done just weeks before and called the service man that did the work. He said that they already did them and I could stop back over. This mechanic uses a electronic diagnostic and guaranteed the work. He did it in front of me. The Dealer "service manager" said his service guys do visual inspections and he trusted his mechanics. Now ..I have a Dealer who recommends work I did not ask for. They also quote the work at 2-3x the price. This really sucks.
