I started noticing a clanking noise in the transmission when I shift it back and forth from park to drive to reverse etc. It is most noticeable when it is cold. I had a detailed inspection done at the dealership at the same time as I had them perform a transmission service, however they said the could not find anything at all wrong with the transmission. They said it could possibly be the lower ball joints since they are getting bad and need to be replaced, however it does not sound like its coming from the wheels. The noise is directly below the shifter in the transmission.
