While driving on the williamsburg bridge there was a slight incline during this time the vehicle was trying to accelerate and that's when it started loosing power and started misfiring. Fortunately, this happened very early in the morning and there were no vehicles except mine. When I got to the other side of the bridge I got off the expressway immediately.

The contact owns a 2007 Mazda CX9. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked in the residential garage when he smelled an extremely strong odor of fuel outside of the vehicle. There was also an overpowering gasoline odor from inside the vehicle when the vehicle was in motion. The vehicle was taken to both an independent mechanic and authorized dealer where they informed the contact that there was a rusty seam within the fuel tank. The part needed to make repairs was unavailable and the contact was advised that the dealer would repair the vehicle once the part became available. The contact planned to notify the manufacturer regarding the defect. The failure mileage was 103,568. Updated 3/1/12
