CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2010 Mazda CX-7 appears to share the same engine defects as the three previous model years: VVT/timing chain failure & turbo failure. The timing chain failure is especially bad with many cars requiring an engine replacement ($9,000+).
In 2011, Mazda began a "Special Service Program" that extended the warranty to 7 years/70,000 miles covering excessive timing chain noise — an early sign of timing chain failure. However coverage under the program requires perfect documentation of all required maintenance with other stipulations. Buyer beware.

I bought this car 6 months ago and two months after I bought the car the motors in my windows went out. The headlight on the driver side went out and not only went out, but the housing area is melted. It is going to cost me over $500.00 to get this problem fixed. Plus there is an oil leak somewhere on my car. The warranty I have on my car will not touch the headlights. I paid $1900.00 for the warranty and feel like I got taken for the car. I am scared to go to work at night because I am scared I will get pulled over and ticketed for the headlight. The car drives OK though. I just feel overwhelmed and trying to figure out how to get this problem fixed due to living on a fix income.
Thanks for letting me rant.

Update from Feb 10, 2015: took car in for burnt oil smell and found out my turbo charger and oil cooler needs changing. AUL warranty will only pay for charger to be replaced but not the oil cooler which will cost me 500.00 dollars and the cost of the labor which is 700.00 dollars. DON'T BUY A MAZDA EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
