The OBD code popped for the check engine light P0126, which is low coolant temperature. This problem has been with Mazda since 2018 and affecting more than one model. They are saying July before the parts are available and to just drive the car. Unfortunately I am an Advanced technology engineer with a well established automotive background.
This condition will cause increased fuel consumption and emissions. It can also lead to internal engine & emissions systems damage that may not surface until the car is well past warranty. It may also mask another problem should one occur as the light is always on. In addition being in a cold climate there is a lack of interior heat.
I have spent countless hours trying to reach anyone at Mazda USA that appears to care. I have only gotten through on their Customer service line twice, that took 3-1/2 hours by itself. The first time was disconnected, the second was a snarky bitch. Emails, Facebook page postings, messages etc. have all been a waste of my time. Mazda has lost a customer of FORTY YEARS. The car is currently parked as it should be. How can they have a parts shortage if they are still building and selling cars. So much for being part of the MAZDA FAMILY.
