Car and driver rated this car #1!!! For safety and reliability??

Mazda dealership tried to tell me that it's normal to have soft brakes. The car doesn't stop!! I have my kid in the car and felt super unsafe. Pedal travel should not be the norm! They bleed the brakes and resurfaced the rotor. Said it was fixed. I still don't feel very safe especially when it rains. I baby this car and drive conservatively. This should not happen on a new car!!
