The noise is a hollow, windy, vacillating roar when driving, I hear it all the time. I let Pfaff's GM know about my issues by the second Saturday I had the SUV. Is this why took them two months to sell this SUV?
The Pfaff dealership said all sounds are normal. Pfaff reached out to Mazda to replace vehicle however Mazda declined as Pfaff didn't find anything wrong. Pfaff have not provided paperwork for the visit on Sept 21 2018 even though I requested it. Pfaff is about 100 miles from me so I took a day off work and stayed overnight in a nearby hotel to try to get this resolved.
After getting the final word from Pfaff I reach out out to the Windsor Dealership and they did hear it. They changed tires, removed a burr on a brake pad. Given this is my only vehicle I needed to rent a car for two days while they did this work.
The problem continues so they have reached out to the Mazda Rep. The Windsor dealer will not provide paperwork documenting the issue until the mazda rep. takes a test drive with us. Windsor says we should hear from Mazda Rep. in about 3 weeks as they are on vacation.
I'm not so sure how much faith I can put in Mazda's statement "Your complete and permanent satisfaction is of primary concern" on page 7 of the 2018 Warranty Information booklet.
Update from Oct 20, 2018: So I have a brand new SUV that sounds way to loud when it is started, it squeaks when put in gear, makes a constant whining roar going down the road. The steering wheel heater won't stay warm and it makes a rubbing sound when turning it quickly. The London Pfaff dealership says everything is normal.
