I'm so disappointed and fearful of my Cx5 Mazda. I have owned Mazda for years and never had this problem.
On Saturday, Sep 26, 2020, I turned off of a city street onto a side road to park my vehicle because I has an appointment. When I went to park I was going about 2 miles an hour, when suddenly the engine accelerated and I couldn't control the car, and braking wouldn't stop it. Hit a chain link fence and sheared off a natural gas line to a residence, the gas was hissing and the people in the home had to be evacuated in case of an explosion. I shifted the car into park and shut off the engine. What a disaster that could have been if it exploded, I can't even think about it. All safety departments came and secured the area. The car was towed and we are waiting for estimates of the damage. This is a serious problem that needs looking into. At this moment I will never buy another Mazda again, and I need to purchase a safer vehicle.
