The contact owns a 2015 Mazda Cx-5. while driving at a slow rate of speed, a loud abnormal rattling noise could be heard under the front end of the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The dealer diagnosed that a squeaking noise was caused by a damaged bolt by the windshield. The vehicle was repaired, but the noise persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed with needing a strut replacement due to a lost bolt. The vehicle was not repaired again. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact inquired about NHTSA campaign number: 16V203000 (steering), but the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was 48,000.

I was parking my car in the garage last night, when I noticed a fracture line propagating from the base of the windshield (about 6 inches long). In my entire history of driving I have never seen this with a vehicle. There was no stone chip or indentation. Just a fracture line. By the next day when I got into my car, the fracture line had spread across the windshield. Mazda claims high safety rating, but this is a manufacture error and poor/thin glass quality. The dealership was trying to argue and not take responsibility. This is a major safety issue! I am escalating this complaint with Mazda. At the moment, I have not heard back.
