Problem started about a year ago. Car won't completely shut down when put in park and turned off. Finding that we have to place car in Park very firmly to get it to completely shut down. I'm wondering if it is because the car is not detecting that it is in park. When I took it in for oil change and new cabin filter at dealer I mentioned it because it happens on a regular basis now. The Service Advisor immediately knew the problem (some sort of switch) and said it was about 286.00 to fix it and asked if I would like to...
Well, I just don't have an extra $300 hanging around, so no, especially since I just spent over a hundred that day. So I have been dealing with it and it's is a real pain, I think since they immediately knew what it was there should be some kind of recall on it. Apparently, it's a defect and not an owner's fault due to neglect or mistreatment of our vehicles. It's now taking sometimes 4 and 5 times of turning car back on, taking back out of park, and firmly putting it back into park before the car will completely shut off. Do some Customer Good Will Mazda, and recall it!
