keyless entry, key fob inside car, locked me out I was parked, engine off, doors closed, talking to a friend in the car with me. I had taken off my coat while inside the car, and my car keys were in my coat pocket, in the back seat. We both got out of the car, shut the doors, then I went to open the back door to get my coat, and the doors were locked. ALL OF THEM! AND THE KEY FOB was still INSIDE the car.
I called Mazda roadside service, after 20 minutes giving all the information, they tell me my 3 year 36K mile warranty expired (I was about 6K over the cut-off. They told me they would contact service, charged my credit card $59. and service was to show up within the hour. An hour and a half later, no service. Called Mazda Roadside again and told me they came, but nobody was there and no answer for the phone. MAZDA Roadside Assistance GAVE THE SERVICE COMPANY MY HOME PHONE ONLY (APPARENTLY) EVEN AFTER I GAVE THEM AND CONFIRMED MY CELL PHONE NUMBER, AND THAT WAS THE NUMBER i COULD BE REACHED AT.
I had no coat (keys in my coat pocket were locked inside). I went into the restaurant I was at, had my phone with me all the time, and found out the above (they gave the service company the wrong phone number to reach me at). I had to call back and reschedule the service THROUGH MAZDA because they already charged me $59.00. Waited another 45 minutes, service came and unlocked my door.
Mazda Roadside Assistance would do NOTHING to compensate me for this. The first person I talked to initially when I called told me there have been a number of the same incident lately with this car.
I was under the impression the roadside assistance was included in the $2K+ platinum protection plan for 5 years/100K miles (I know what you're thinking-saying: SUCKER!) LOL
I am pursuing Mazda for reimbursement since none of this was my fault to begin with. I believe it is a safety standard that you should not be able to lock yourself out of the car with the keys LEFT INSIDE.
