2 weeks ago, I had my car serviced at the dealer, including an alignment for regular maintenance and it was running perfectly. I never had any mechanical problems with the car for almost 2 years. It was pre-owned with very low mileage and I loved it. I was in line late at night at a drive-thru that was taking a long time. I used the auto-hold feature to put the brake on while I waited. When it was time to move again, I tapped the gas like I normally would and the car lunged forward. I was confused and stepped on it again, looking for the brake; the car accelerated toward the wall in front of me and unable to stop or turn, I crashed into a telephone pole. The driver airbags deployed and the car was totalled. I walked away with minor injuries, mainly from the airbag panel hitting/burning my bare knee.
