I leased 2017 Maserati Levante. There was a check engine light on at Nov 13 2019. Then I drove to dealer Maserati in Anaheim Hills. The next day they told me only the gas cap being not tight caused the check engine light to come on, no other problems, and they clear the light and let me go.

In the morning of Jan 23 2020, the engine was shut down on the road I was driving on, and could not restart. Then I called AAA and they towed the car to Maserati in Anaheim Hills and let them check. Next day, they called me to say that the engine was dead and asked me to show them service records. I went to the shop where I did this car service before and brought the 2 oil change records to Maserati Anaheim Hills.

They called me yesterday that Maserati will not cover the warranty since I did an oil change a year ago with wrong oil. But I asked the shop and they said they did an all right job with a Maserati factory filter and recommended oil.

So what should I do right now? It is almost new car, only 32000 miles. There was no any warnings before engine died. No leaking, no overheating. Also, I was sending it to the dealer when the check engine light came on one month ago. Right now they told me they don't cover the warranty.

I just think it is only a problem with bad quality and bad customer service. I will fight!
