Had an accident and as a result the airbag notification light stays on. Light suppose to indicate that the airbag inflated. It did not inflate during accident. Accident was on a city street and it was in motion.
The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Town car. While backing out of the driveway at approximately 5 mph, a snap sound was heard and the steering wheel fractured. The steering wheel moved in circles and the contact lost control of the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle crashed into a ditch. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there were no recalls. The contact stated that while driving at 15 mph and attempting to accelerate, the accelerator pedal became stuck causing the vehicle to lunge forward and crash into bushes. My father was involved in an T-bone accident which totaled both vehicles. Not one of his airbags deployed. I understand the front not deploying but neither of the side bags deployed as well.
The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Town car. The contact stated that the air bag light illuminated on the instrument panel. The dealer stated that the seat belt retractor failed and caused the failure to occur and the seat belt would not protect them in a crash nor would the air bag deploy. The failure and current mileage was 48,500.
The contact drove a 2007 Lincoln Town car, which was a company vehicle. While the vehicle was parked, the contact placed the vehicle into drive. The vehicle traveled four feet and then accelerated. He attempted to steer and apply the brakes, but the vehicle only accelerated more. The vehicle finally stopped after striking two poles and another vehicle. The other vehicle then struck three additional vehicles. The contact's vehicle spun around and was facing the rear of the vehicle that he struck. The instrument panel lights illuminated and a crushing sound was heard. The air bags never deployed until the vehicle stopped. The contact's vehicle and two other vehicles were destroyed. A police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries to his neck, right shoulder, lower back, both wrists, left hand, right pelvis, both knees, and right ankle. He also suffered from dizzy spells, was on medication, lost 40 lbs., and is seeing a psychiatrist. The passenger in the rear seat sustained a bump to her head.
