Passenger retracting step sometimes doesn't go back up after the doors are closed. A friend of ours has a Ford Expedition (2008) that does the same thing, but there's is stuck worse than ours.
I read up on this and I saw online where a guy took the whole assembly off and cleaned the electrical components and there wasn't an issue anymore. I'm not sure why you would have to take it all off just to clean that.
You can control the step to either stay up or down all the time..but not one or the other.(via Dashboard controls or touchscreen ..can't remember which one)
