The engine trouble light came on. Found that two of the the spark plugs defective. Lincoln Mercury said that the plugs of defective design fused into head, not covered under warranty, common problem in 5.4 motor and cost will be $2,500-$3,000 to fix. As owners manaul said no plug replacement until 115,000 miles and have extended warranty believed should be coveredbut dealer said no, that it was routine maintenance. Ford Motor blew it off too. Looking at legal remedies against Ford-Lincoln Mercury and wondering about other 5.4 motor owners having same problem. $3,000 to fix defect when their own replacement schedule advised 115,000 mile and have only 80,000 miles - just not right.
