The contact owns a 2006 Lincoln Navigator. The contact stated that it was difficult to start the vehicle. Aaa was contacted for assistance. While attempting to jump start the vehicle, the tow truck operator noticed electrical sparks in the rear fuse panel. The battery was disconnected and the contact was informed to have the vehicle diagnosed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuse panel needed to be replaced because the wires were melted. The fuse box was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
