The contact owns 2005 Lincoln Navigator. The contact stated that they had to replace the engine since the head gasket was defective and there was a piston that caused metal shavings to enter the engine. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer several times since a knocking sound was in the engine. The dealer was unable to find the source of the knocking sounds in the engine. Since the vehicle was 5000 miles over the warranty the engine failed. The dealer inspected the engine and stated that in needed to be replaced. The failure and current mileages were 55000. 2005 Lincoln Navigator has had loss of power on multiple occasions. I have had the vehicle since new and I have taken it to the Ford dealers in the area 3 times to have the problem fixed. Dealer has been able to duplicate the problem but does not have a solution to fix it. Vehicle hesitates and does not accelerate creating a serious hazard when acceleration is needed. Ford has no solution to repair the problem and I was told to continue driving the vehicle and keep a log of when the problem exists (ie; weather, time date ect).
