The contact owns a 2000 Lincoln Navigator. The contact stated that the driver side air bag deployed without warning. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. As of November 29, 2007, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle. The manufacturer stated that they would investigate the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The VIN and mileage information were unavailable.
Contact stated while driving on a dirt road at 50 mph she lost control of vehicle and it crashed into a ditch. Upon impact, the driver's side air bags did not deploy. Injuries were sustained. Updated 12/7/2005.
Vehicle accelerated out of control from a dead stop, resulted in a frontal collision at 35-40 mph into a palm tree. Upon impact, airbags did not deploy, resulting in minor injuries. Manufacturer has been notified.
