Driving from home to charleston SC got to last exit the car shut off restarted and put it back in gear it shut off again. 1999 Lincoln Navigator. The car stalls repeatedly whenever the transmission is placed in reverse. Purchased from carmax March 28,2007 mi 60,315.
While traveling down highway about 65-70 mph the veh suddenly started slowing down and after pulling over would not accelarate. After inspection I learned the transmission went out. Service engine light was on but problem was not detected with transmission
Upon accelerating vehicle would shift through the gears. When getting set to shift into overdrive the transmission made a grinding sound. Felt like highway right of way reminders to wake up the occupants. This happened before and I had the vehicle inspected 4 times and the dealer couldn't explain. Tranny flush cured the problem. This was at 25,000miles. It is back again at 55,000 miles. It feels unsafe. If this locks up at 55mph my family is in danger!
Consumer was traveling about 65mph on highway and vehicle started rocking from side to side. When applying gears vehicle was streaking. Dealership was aware of problem.
