I was going down interstate Friday February 15th of 2019 and was coming up to intersection with red light. As I began to apply brakes nothing happened. I frantically kept trying to push down as hard as I could using both feet and still was going same speed as before. I changed lanes trying to avoid hitting a car then switched lanes back by then there was no place to go and I slammed into the back of a truck causing horrible damage to my front end.
The air bag in the steering wheel came out and busted my lip and was bleeding everywhere and my forehead was hit and somehow my hand was cut needing stitches. The front of my car looks like a army tank tried to run over me!!!An ambulance took me to the hospital and a tow truck took my car. The police took statements from the other 2 people involved but I did not get to tell what happened to me. No one ever came to the hospital or tried to find me. The police report was typed up saying I caused everything and was at fault. However, one of the women did say that to her it looked like I was trying to control the car and was having difficulty and was trying to correct the situation. I certainly was trying but nobody knew what was happening but me.
Now my car is in horrible shape. It was the most beautiful car I had ever seen in my life it was love at first sight. I knew I had to have it the moment I saw it. Now it looks horrible. I am not ashamed to admit I cried, its been 2 weeks and I am still crying. The tow truck charged me $500.00 to bring it 22 miles and when he left I looked inside and my new $100.00 garmin GPS machine was gone. He said he was not responsible. Oh no of course he's not, how stupid of me.
I want Ford Lincoln Motor Company to be held accountable for this and make them pay for the repairs to my beautiful car!! If they do not agree to help me then I will hire a lawyer and sue them.I am not going to just let this go. I was paying $500.00 a month to have that car and I am not going to just turn my back on it now. It was not my fault that the brakes failed. How was anyone to know that something like that was going to happen?
My car was in excellent condition and never gave me one tiny clue that anything like that could happen. I had just took a trip to Little Rock that's a 300 mile round trip 3 days before this and it rode like a floating magic carpet. Then all of a sudden pow no brakes and of all places a congested intersection on a rainy Friday at lunch time. Boy,the timing could not have been worse!!!
Please if anyone reading this has any suggestions please help me I am at my breaking point with this. Thank you so very much. It does help to get it off your chest and tell it. My family has heard it all over and over for 2 weeks now, so much that they don't even like to be in the same room with me. Again, thank you for being here.
