The MKZ Hybrid was purchased new on April 2013 - 20 months old. The car is making a loud humming noise coming from the left frontend. I took the car in for service and the dealer mechanic is telling me that the transmission needs to be replaced at a cost of approximately $7,000. Unbelievable that the transmission would need to be replaced after 100,000 highway miles. I believe the issue is not with the transmission but with the wheel bearings. I think the dealer is not looking out for what is in my best interest.
I came back to purchasing an America made cars after many years. I can say that I am VERY DISAPPOINTED with the quality of the America cars. I had a foreign cars and driven them more than 350,000 miles - matter of facts my daughter is still driving the car with no transmission issues or major mechanical problems. I think I made just sell the car and go back to Foreign brands if I do get a reasonable solution for this problem.
