The "key" is a terrible design. It has silver trim on each side and one trim piece kept falling off. I have constantly reattached it until one day I realized it had fallen off and was missing. I went to dealer and they admitted it has been a problem and others had it happen, but they couldn't help me because they didn't have another trim piece. This is a newer lease I've only had a couple of mths. and driven very little.and it looks awful. I've driven several new Lincolns in recent yrs. and the "key" was always one piece so this never happened before. Terrible design!
The dealer won't help me and I am embarrassed to drive this nice car with a damaged key and fully expect the other siide will fall off and it will liekly happen with my second key. Not what I would expect from Lincoln!!!
I've been a GM client for all my life until I went to Lincoln and this is approximatley my 4th Lincoln. Only one of the 4 was disappointing and I almost went back to GM because the last one didn't drive well (very rough when starting from a light ) and the dealer kept implying it wasn't a problem. I just eventually changed salesman and dealer and this has been the best Lincoln MKZ I've had. But the key situation is certainly disappointing~
