Some 2013-2016 MKZ vehicles equipped with adaptive headlamps may exhibit a Check Headlamp System fault message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) after the right headlamp is replaced. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1D65 may also be stored in the headlamp control module (HCM). To correct this condition install a new right headlamp (13008). Right headlamps built on or after 17-Oct-2019, or reworked headlamp assemblies identified with a green dot on the box and/or a green paint mark on the headlamp near the part number label, will no longer have this issue.
