The vehicle was certified purchased with 17,134 miles with a certified warranty. I have read other articles concerning these same issues. It was stated no recall and not covered under warranty was considered a trim issue. Seems like BS seeing that it was the housing that was behind the the cap less gas tank door - and there were similar issues concerning Ford trucks on earlier models that I found online. There was no problem at the dealership - they have the housings in stock, go figure. Having worked in the auto industry years ago the built in returns due to things like let’s put plastic coatings on the timing gear so it won’t be so noisy as as the heat up break off and clogs the pan at approximately 50,000. Pontiac Buick lifters and Chevy electrical anyway I’m done $440.00 with $285.00 of it labor.
Should be a recall - they are aware it does effect emissions. I guess I wasn’t done.
