Lincoln TSB #SSM 48406
2014 Lincoln MKZ
TSB Document:
Affected Component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary
- Some 2013-2016 MKZ vehicles equipped with adaptive headlamps may exhibit a Check Headlamp System fault message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) after installation of a new right headlamp. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1D65 may also be stored in the headlamp control module (HCM). This may be due to a quality issue with the right headlamp service part, which was corrected on headlamps built on and after 17-Oct-2019. In addition, some headlamps with Earlier build dates were reworked with corrective actions and may be installed. Reworked headlamp assemblies are identified by having a green dot on the box and/or a green paint mark on the headlamp near the part number label. For claiming, use the headlamp base number as the causal part and applicable labor from the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
