The led brake lights on this vehicle are prone to failure. As the tail light lens assembly is a sealed unit and cannot be serviced, the entire lens assembly must be replaced when the led circuit board fails. Ford has acknowledged this issue with a TSB that has now expired. Failed brakes lights is a safety concern, and as such, there should not be an expiration date for addressing the problem. A properly designed led circuit board should last the life of the vehicle.
