I had the throttle body replaced in my 2010 Lincoln MKZ on August 11, 2011. I had only driven my car for about two and a half weeks as my husband and I flew out to see our daughter in North Carolina. We returned home September 9th and didn't take the car out of the garage until September 11th to go shopping. We stopped by the local Walgreen store and when parking next to the building my car accelerated as I was breaking and hit the side of the building and the park bench sitting in front of the wall. The store has video camera's on the side of the building and it is apparent the car was slowing to park when it accelerated. The insurance company will only pay for 24 days on a rental and now the letter I got from Ford said it can be another 90 days for their review. Nothing can be done with the car in this time and they said they could take any component from the car to test it and I have to write for permission to get it fixed before that happens. I am making payments and paying for insurance on a car I
no longer trust and I guess Ford doesn't see a problem with that. That's how Americans treat their own. I guess Ford will not be my car of choice in the future if that's the way they treat their customers....as crash dummies!!
