This problem was first reported at around 12,000 miles on the vehicle which I bought used at 8200 miles. The stall would happen at a stop light when the gas tank was below 1/4 tank with either the A/C or Heat on. Just before the stall there would be a very slight shutter and then the oil pressure and engine indicators would be illuminated. In the 20,000 miles since the first occurrence, this vehicle has been at the dealership no less than 4 times for days or weeks at a time so that the techs can try to figure out the problem. No codes have ever been stored in memory and none of the techs have experienced a stall. The last stall was a part of a series of 5 I experienced on my way home from work, 1 at a stop sign, 2 stopped in traffic on a parkway, 1 at 35 mph, 1 after placing car in park. The first was at 99 miles to empty, the last at 58 miles to empty. All but one incident has been which the car was stopped or parked. In every case, (about 25 now over time), I could put the car in neutral or park and restart the engine with no issue. I have lost confidence in this vehicle as the stall at speed was hard to handle with no power breaks or steering. The only thing that the dealership has done was to change the oil, and do a throttle cover cleaning. They still are driving the car and don't have a Lincoln loaner for me. I want to get rid of it as it is no longer dependable and is not safe.
