The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated that while the brake pedal was depressed, he had to apply pressure to the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that either the master cylinder or the interlock brake box failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was transferred to the dealer, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 173,270.

The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, while depressing on the brake pedal the vehicle failed to stop. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated she was able to cruise to an independent mechanic. The contact stated that the independent mechanic informed her that the brake master cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The independent mechanic then stated that the HCU needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The independent mechanic stated that HCU needed to be replaced a second time. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. A dealer was not contacted. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 243,000.
