2008 Lincoln MZK. Chrome on all wheels is pealing off, tires losing air on a regular basis. Replacement will be prohibitive. I'm tempted to buy some other wheels at a salvage yard, but am concerned that the same issues would occur. This is a very expensive luxury car, and overall I love the car, but really, THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL!!! Not only for owner safety from the sharp edges, but also for the company profile. A lot of people comment on the wheel situation, and to me that would be a determining factor in future purchase. The car looks beautiful until you see the wheels. If I do find a set of replacement wheels, they will not be chromed. Very disappointing. My last Lincoln was a 1964 4 door, now that was a luxury car!
Update from Jan 4, 2018: Was losing air about every 3-6 days. Took the car to C and J tires. The mechanic who worked on the wheels was luckily a former Ford mechanic and knew the car well. He re-beaded the wheels, haven't had a problem since, he also recalibrated the sensors. Now for the real shocker regarding the chrome pealing off of the rims. He stated that the rims were NOT ACTUALLY PLATED. Ford had a mold of the wheels made and the "Chrome" is actually a cover that is glued on to the wheel!!!!!!!!!!!! He suggested pulling off as much as of the coating as possible and that eventually the elements would loosen the remainder. The wheels are actually beaded aluminum that will look just fine. Also remember that when you have your car cleaned at a car wash or detail shop, that the person doing the work could be seriously cut, and YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE. Hope that this helps.
