CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE on LINCOLN 2013 MKX!! The water pump suddenly and prematurely failed on the expressway—before the end of the useful life of the engine—resulting in catastrophic engine failure due to Ford/Lincoln/Mercury's defective Cyclone Engine (Duratec) with an internal water pump. Vehicle had to be towed by flatbed, the engine had to be pulled out with repairs/replacement to the following: Water pump, valve cover gasket set, upper & lower intake manifold gasket set, timing chain, crankshaft seal, power steering reservoir, and right valve cover. REPAIRS TOTALED $3,856.30 plus $840.72 for a rental vehicle.
Ford has allegedly refused to issue a water pump recall and has not fixed the vehicles or compensated owners. NEED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.
