Engine would stall. I pressed the gas pedal and nothing. Engine would die. I had to remove myself from traffic and fast. Car would stall if I was on the interstate highway or in traffic. I researched the problem and contacted my dealership and they indicated there were no recalls. I emailed everythinge I could find concerning this issue on 2011 Lincoln MKX and still they denied it. I paid for the repairs, it was $468.21. Months later I received a recall letter concerning this issue. I notified the dealership again and forward the letter and they agreed to reimburse me. I pickup my refund check from the dealership and it was for only $318.43. I was so disgusted with them, I didn't ask why I was short paid not to mention I could have been killed on the highway all the times my engine died.

MKX AWD

My MKX AWD would just lose engine power, and even trying to give it gas, it would die. Traction control light and ABS lights would flash when this happened. Took to dealer and one is there is a Major Recall Ford extended to 150,000 miles 10 year for Master Brake Cylinder. Also if you have this issue check your ABS wheel speed sensor. Mine was cracked in one wheel and needed replaced. I ended up selling the vehicle after the fixes.

MKX 3.7L V6

I was just driving home and the car stopped. The engine didn't quit but I had no use of any functions except to coast to the side of the road. No phone signal there. Turning the car off and restarting seemed to reset it so I could drive home. We took the car to the local Ford dealer. Since the AWD failed sign had gone off they couldn't get any "code" to show up so didn't know how to fix it. They also drove the car to see if they could replicate the problem. They couldn't.

We took the car back and in less than a week the same thing happened while my husband was driving home from work. Took it back to the Ford garage. After having it for about 3 weeks they said we needed to get a new Throttle Body. We told them go ahead. Just got the car back today so don't know yet what will happen next.

My husband said that is a Lincoln design flaw and the Ford folks didn't seem to want to call Lincoln so they gave us the phone number and my husband called. The Lincoln rep said things fail on cars. Hubby said your car shouldn't stop working while you are driving down the road. They called back the next day and said they would agree to pay $250 toward the repair. We have no idea if this is the repair we need or not. When the next thing happens, I'll add another complaint.

without warning the engine has stalled and lost all power

This the first of 3 times that this cars engine failed.. On this occasion the car stalled when going downhill at approximately 30 mph, for no apparent reason. In Feb 2014, this car again stalled when accelerating onto the expressway traveling 50 mph. The last incident was this week when the car stalled at 70 mph when traveling in the fast lane of the expressway. There is no indication that there is any problem, until the car completely quits running and you are left with no alternative but to attempt to coast off the road with no power steering. I have been fortunate that I was able to stop my car safely without being killed. The car has been looked at twice by Lincoln and they have done nothing to resolve the problem.. The car is going in the shop Monday and if they can not find the problem, I am asking for a buy back. Do not buy this car. Your are taking your life into your hands.
