The contact owns a 2008 Lincoln Mkx. The contact stated that there was an odor of gasoline fuel present from the rear end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the fuel tank had corroded causing fuel to leak out. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000.
