This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Click and grinding from front end when turning. Eventually bearings had to be replaced and it was only 1 year old. A couple months later right front wheel broke off while driving and almost crashed, it took Ford over a month until I got my vehicle back, now rear shocks are leaking and need to be replaced under warranty, I was just told today that the transmission is leaking due to a faulty part that is broken. The car is only 3 years old!
Front suspension clunk. When turning left or driving over rough roads I notice a clunk or click. I had brought this to the Ford / Lincoln dealers attention and they said that Ford is working on the fix and it was not dangerous. I asked for my paperwork for the various repairs that were looked at or completed and they said that they were going to keep it until they heard back from Ford. I don't want some potential problem to go unnoticed. I believe this problem is linked to the failure of the suspension. If you push on the drivers side suspension underneath the vehicle it will make a click noise.
